Emma Marcegaglia, President of Confindustria since May 2008, is also the Managing Director of Marcegaglia S.p.A., which is a leading group in steel processing, and of its controlled companies.

She is the President of Mita Resort, the company in charge of running the Forte Village touristic resort in Santa Margherita of Pula (Cagliari) and also in the Board of Directors of Bracco and Gabetti Property Solutions.

Since June 2003 she has been President of Areté Onlus Foundation for  the support of the activities of Vita-Salute San Raffaele.

From 2004 until 2008 she was Vice President of Confindustria, with a proxy for infrastructures, energy, transport and environment and Italian Representative in the High Level Group for energy, competitiveness, and environment at the European Commission. She has been Vice President of Confindustria for Europe from 2000 until 2002, National President of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs from 1996 till 2000, President of YES (Young Entrepreneurs for Europe) from 1997 till 2000, National Vice President of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs from 1994 till 1996.

Emma Marcegaglia holds a Degree in Business Administration, with first class honours, at the Bocconi University in Milano. She also attended the postgraduate Master in Business Administration at the University of New York.
