Bernard Spitz is the Chairman of the French Federation of Insurance Companies, the professional body representing 90% of the insurance market. He sits on the board of MEDEF, the French Employers' Association, who put him in charge of the Social Agenda of the B20, the international business leaders summit scheduled during the Cannes G20 summit on November 3-4 under French Presidency. Mr Spitz is coordinating the joint statement of the B20 and the L20, the international Labour and Unions summit.
Bernard Spitz sits on the boards of several European think tanks: En Temps Réel, Aspen (France), Glocus (Italy), The Lisbon Council (Belgium). He is a regular speaker at the Anglo-French Colloque, the Club of Three (UK), the Quadriga (Italy). He is a founding member of Les Gracques (Paris).
A member of the Council of State, former Rapporteur of the Competition Authority, and a former staff adviser to former PM Michel Rocard, Bernard Spitz was Head of Strategy at Vivendi Universal 2000-2004. He contributes to Le Monde, The Wall Street Journal, La Croix, Les Echos among others.
Bernard Spitz is the non-executive chairman of BSConseil, providing strategic advice to international corporations on developing their business in France.
