Mr Daniel Funes de Rioja is a lawyer, and Doctor of Law and Social Sciences, specialized in Political Science and Constitutional Law from the University of Buenos Aires.
At the national level, he is a member of the Executive Committee and President of the Social Policy Department of the Argentinian Business Federation (UIA), President of the Coordinating Council for Food and Beverage Industries (COPAL) and President of the Federation of Foodstuffs Manufacturers (FIPAA).
At the international level, he has been Executive Vice-President of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) since 2001. He is also Vice-President of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO), President of the Employers’ Group of the Governing Body and of the ILO Conference. He was a member of the World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization.
Since 1997, he has been President of the Business Technical Advisory Committee on Labour Matters (CEATAL/OAS) at the Organization of American States.
He was honored by the Government of France with an Academic Award, by the Chilean Government with the Order of Bernardo O’Higgins as “Gran Oficial”, and by the Colombian Government with the Order of San Carlos as “Gran Oficial”.
