Dr Victor K Fung is the Group Chairman of the Li & Fung group of companies, which includes publicly listed Li & Fung Limited, Convenience Retail Asia Limited and Trinity Limited. He also is the Founding Chairman of the Fung Global Institute, an independent and non-profit think-tank
Dr Fung holds a number of civic and professional appointments. He is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a vice chairman of China Centre for International Economic Exchanges. He is Chairman of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council and a member of the Commission on Strategic Development of Hong Kong. Dr Fung was previously Chairman of the Council of The University of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Dr Fung is currently Honorary Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Asia Advisory Board of Prudential Financial, Inc (USA) and an independent Director of Bank of China (Hong Kong), Baosteel Group Corporation (People’s Republic of China) and Koc Holding A. S. (Turkey).
Dr Fung holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University. He also taught as a professor at Harvard Business School for four years before returning to Hong Kong in 1976. Dr Fung is married with three children.
