Alejandro Martinez Sibaja was awarded a master´s degree in business administration from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

He joined Pemex in 1979 and worked in the business development and construction divisions. He then served in PMI Comercio Internacional, where he held various positions related to international trading. From 1988 to 1990 he worked in PMI Services UK, in London where he managed the crude oil commercial relationship with European customers.

Mr. Alejandro Martinez joined the LPGs Division of Pemex Gas y Petroquimica Basica (Pemex-Gas) in 1995 where he was Manager of Analysis & Planning. Subsequently he served as commercial manager of transportation in the pipeline division where he was responsible of marketing transportation. He also developed pipeline-infrastructure within the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). In addition, He managed the business relationship with the local distribution companies (LDCs).

In 2005 he served as Deputy Director of Operations & Strategy Implementation of the Corporate Operations Division where he promoted the development of several strategic initiatives. One of these was the “Cogeneration Nuevo Pemex-Gas Processing Plant Project”.

Mr. Alejandro Martinez is Natural Gas Vice-President of Pemex-Gas since June 2010 with the main responsibility of managing the marketing and sale of natural gas to industrial customers, power producers, natural gas LDCs and Pemex companies. In addition, he manages the import and export activities to preserve the supply/demand balance in the national pipeline system. Mr. Martinez also coordinates the marketing of financial derivatives to support the hedging strategies of the customers and coordinates the business development efforts to develop new pipeline infrastructure to enhance the supply and service to Pemex-Gas’ customers.
