Haluk Dinçer is the President of the Retail and Insurance Group of Sabancı Holding.
Haluk Dinçer was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1962. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 and an M.B.A. in 1988, both from the University of Michigan.
Dinçer joined Sabancı Holding in 1995 as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of the automotive manufacturer TemSA. He was appointed Vice President of the Food and Retail Group in 2001, and Food Group President in 2002.
Haluk Dinçer took over as the President of Sabancı Holding’s Retail Group in 2004. In March 2011, the Group was restructured as the Retail and Insurance Group, with Dinçer as its President.
In his role as the President of the Retail and Insurance Group, Haluk Dinçer is the Executive Chairman of the Group’s five companies, four of which are international joint ventures: the mass-merchant chain CarrefourSA, discount food retailer DiaSA, electronics superstore TeknoSA, the pensions and life insurance provider AvivaSA, and the non-life insurer Aksigorta, a partnership with the Belgian insurance group Ageas.
Haluk Dinçer is the Chairman of DEIK / Turkish-American Business Council. Dinçer is also the Vice-President of TÜSIAD – Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association.
