Over the past few years, the raw material markets have experienced an increase in price volatility and access concerns in multiple domains. This is a core issue since there can be no level playing field without equality in access to commodities and raw materials. Price volatility is also a matter of concern because it blurs small businesses’ economic environment.
Current price levels and increased volatility are a cause of concern. They seem to be mainly driven by economic fundamentals, so the G20 should focus on reducing tension between demand/supply especially in a time of increasing governmental restrictions on investments and trade.
