Ms Ümit Boyner served as Vice-President of TÜSİAD between 2005 and 2010 and elected President by the General Assembly of the association on 21 January 2010. Born in 1963, Ms. Boyner received BA degree in Economics from the University of Rochester, New York and completed the Financial Management Program of the Graduate School of Business in Columbia University. She began her professional career in 1985 at Chemical Mitsui Bank, followed by senior positions at the finance departments of several companies. In 1996 she became the Vice-President in charge of finance in Boyner Holding (www.boynerholding.com). Since 2002 she is the executive board member overseeing the finances and investments of the group. Ms. Boyner also devotes her time to various NGOs such as the Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (Tegv), Turkish Institute of Nautical Archaeology (Tina), and Tohum Autism Foundation. She was also the President of the Corporate Volunteer Association for two years, and a founding member and vice-president for four years of the Women Enterpreneurs Association (Kagider). Since 2008 she has been serving on the Advisory Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She is married and has two children.
