Oleg Deripaska assumed position of Chief Executive Officer of Basic Element in March 2009. He is also CEO of UC RUSAL and President of En+ Group.
From 2001 to March 2009, Oleg Deripaska was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Basic Element. From 1997 to 2001, he was President of Sibirsky Aluminum Group and prior to that, from 1994 to 1997, was Director General of Sayanogorsk Aluminum Smelter.
Oleg Deripaska is Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship Council, an advisory body to the Russian Government.
Mr. Deripaska sits on the Boards of Trustees of the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre, the School of Business Administration, the School of Public Administration, and the School of Economics at Moscow State University and the School of Business Administration at St. Petersburg State University. Oleg Deripaska is a co-founder of the National Science Support Foundation and the National Medicine Fund.
In 2004, Oleg Deripaska was appointed by the President of Russia to represent the country in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council (ABAC). He has chaired ABAC Russia since 2007.
In 1993, Oleg Deripaska graduated with honors from Moscow State University with a degree in physics. In 1996, he received a Master's degree from the Plekhanov Academy of Economics in Moscow.
