Green growth is too often referred to by public authorities as specific “green” sectors or activities as an opposite to other, more traditional “grey” sectors or activities. For business, greening the economy and the whole sectors means putting more emphasis on education, training, R&D, innovation... in an appropriate way that builds up on sectoral specificities.
The B20 wants to emphasize the need to take B20 2010 Green Growth recommendations further, by using price mechanisms and investment grade sectoral policies, eliminating policy distortion and developing markets for green products and services.
